December is a quiet month at the beach but with the turning of the New Year the snow birds head south and bring an air of excitement. Beach Getaways welcomes about 80 snowbirds this season. Fleeing the cold and snow looking to enjoy the benefits of warmer weather and outdoor activities. Your lovely condos provide a great respite from the winter weather.
Snowbirds in Orange Beach
Some of the wonderful amenities that grace the gulf coast besides your beautiful condos and wonderful views are; golf, tennis, biking, walking and bird watching. Yes, I said birdwatching. Apparently, the feathered kind have found refuge in the brush and trees of the wildlife areas around Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. They refuel on their long trek to South America. You can locate some of them on the miles of trails and boardwalks located throughout the parks.
The snowbirds make use of the common areas for things like; potlucks, card games, bingo as well as teaching crafts, sewing, painting, dancing and exercise programs. There are many things to choose from while they are here and short-day trips to Biloxi I hear are a hit. Or should I say jackpot?
Most of the snowbirds consider us their friends and especially Emma as an adopted daughter while they are here. This year we will be hosting a “Snow Bird” party on February 8th to say welcome and get to know us as a company. We will be hosting this at the Wharf in one of their beautiful entertainment spaces overlooking the boats in the Marina. Our guests are free to invite a friend in order to attract more snowbirds for next year. We are serving yummy food unique to our area, Seafood, Bar B Que and a little bit of Cajun. Southern hospitality at its finest. A few prize drawings for things like golf, movie tickets, manicures, and restaurants. The snowbirds have been a long time welcomed guest as they keep things lively in the off season. I am sure this party will be hopping.
Renewing and maintaining friendships are among the important activities for this group of guests and it is for us as well at Beach Getaways. We continue our quest for great guest experience with Beach Getaways and strive to connect when online booking can be impersonal.
