There are two amazing reasons to spend your Thanksgiving at the beach this year. One – you are at the beach. No explanation needed. Second, there are some great places to dine on Thanksgiving Day… so you can skip the prep and dishes this year!
In Gulf Shores/Orange Beach
One of the most well-known Thanksgiving events on the Gulf Coast is the Flora-Bama potluck dinner. The restaurant provides the meats and asks anyone who attends to bring sides! The event is free, but there is a charge for beverages. To find out more about this favorite tradition, check out this link.
This beachside staple offers a family-style dinner with a fixed traditional Thanksgiving menu. Enjoy the beachy ambience of this restaurant and easy access to a beach stroll in Gulf Shores after your meal. Tickets are $32.99 for adults and $14.99 for kids. Kids 5 and under eat free. Along Highway 30A
Sunset Dinner Cruise
Try something different this year with a Thanksgiving meal out on the water. Sunquest Cruises offers both a Thanksgiving Day Lunch or Dinner buffet and cruise out of Miramar Beach. Click here for the menu and pricing.
Thanksgiving Meal Out
Many restaurants in this area offer a special Thanksgiving menu. Most require reservations. Here are just a few of them: The Great Southern Cafe in Seaside, North Beach Social in Santa Rosa Beach, Fish Out of Water in Watercolor, Vintij Food & Wine and Ovide in Miramar Beach and Ambrosia in Watersound.
There are also some restaurants offering fully prepared meals that just need to be heated on Turkey Day. A few of them include Flemings Steakhouse in Sandestin, The Big Chill in Watersound and Edwards in Rosemary Beach.
