Check out free events
There are so many free events on the 30A, it’s impossible to list them all. But here are some great resources to find what is going on in your neck of the 30A during your stay. Check out the Seaside Events Calendar, which includes family movie nights, children’s theater, live music, fitness meet-ups and more. You’ll also find lots of activities at The Big Chill, like MLB on the jumbotron, live music, and dance parties. Almost every community hosts free events, so check out the local calendars as well.
Buy groceries in Florida
Florida does not tax food! So, a great way to save an extra 5-10% on your vacation, is to wait until you arrive to do your grocery shopping. There are exceptions, including candy, soda, alcohol and prepared food, but even those taxes tend to be a little bit less than other places.
Visit a State Park
Instead of an expensive excursion, you can enjoy the beauty of the Gulf Coast flora and fauna at one of the many nearby state parks. Hike around a dune lake, enjoy a sunset walk on an abandoned stretch of beach, or find a piece of history hidden in the oaks. Each of the parks have a per-vehicle entry-fee that’s merely $3 to $5. Check out Deer Lake State Park, Topsail Hill State Park, Grayton Beach State Park or Eden Gardens State Park
Stroll the towns
One of our favorite things to do is to take a stroll in one of the unique communities along the 30A. Some of our favorites are Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, Santa Rosa Beach, and Watercolor. You can pop into shops and art galleries, observe each town’s unique architecture, and enjoy the parks and sights of each one. And you won’t spend a dime, unless you want to.
Hit the beach
Of course, this is the dream. And thankfully, the beaches of the 30A are free to visitors and the public.
