If you’re lucky enough to spend a holiday week with us this year – Thanksgiving, Christmas, or sometime in-between, we have a whole host of ideas for your family getaway.
Attend A Unique Local Event
Some of our favorite events of the season are Christmas-themed, but with a coastal twist. There’s the Santa Drop at the Flora-Bama, Lighted Christmas Boat Parade on the Canal, The Christmas Night Market at the Coastal Alabama Fisherman and Farmer’s Market.
Enjoy the Season of Lights
Many of the locals go all-out with Christmas Decorations, but if you want to make an evening of it, our favorite places to see the Christmas lights are at The Wharf, OWA, Gulf State Park, and John B. Foley Park. And it is always worth the drive to visit Bellingrath Gardens, located south of Mobile.
Holiday Shopping
Visit locally owned shops at The Wharf in Orange Beach, or find some deals at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Foley. Or, reserve a day for a trip to beautiful Fairhope, AL, where you can shop for gifts, peruse art galleries, stroll on the pier, stop in the Grand Hotel, and enjoy some of the area’s best restaurants.
Enjoy a White Christmas Walk
While real snow is not likely, come build a sand-man on our gorgeous white sandy beaches. While it’s usually too cold to swim in November and December, you can enjoy some really beautiful days out on the shore in nothing more than a light jacket.
Get a Catered Meal
If you want to preserve your relaxation time and hire a service to cater your holiday meals, there are plenty of options. You can hire a local concierge service like The Beach Moms. Or, many of our local restaurants offer a holiday catering menu, as well as local grocer, Rouses.
We think you will find a whole new tradition, if you spend your holiday with us! Check out availability at this link.
