If you are packing for your beach vacation this summer, don’t leave home without checking this list of our favorite beach gear. There are so many great new innovations out there, here are a few of the best:
Towels
We love Turkish Cotton Pesthemal (flat-weave) towels because they are lightweight, easy to pack, and dry quickly. They are readily available from many sources, but our favorites are from Sand Cloud. Wherever you buy them, check to make sure they are 100% cotton.
Bags
We love the Aloha Day Tripper Bag and zip pouches, because they’re waterproof, easily packable, and carry a surprising amount of towels and gear. If you’re partial to the stand-on-its-own Bogg Bag, check out this brilliant new feature – a drink and snack tray that sits on top.
Umbrella
While we love Shibumi and Solbello wind-supported sunshades, most of them are not allowed near the water in our area, (so emergency vehicles have a clear sightline to the water.) If you want to relax at the water’s edge, check out the Blissun Beach Umbrella or the BeachBUB. We also love these personal sun-shades that clip right on to your chair.
Chairs
Keep it simple – something close to the ground and easy to unfold. Hopefully with a cupholder and an easy-carry feature. These tried and true Tommy Bahama beach chairs are functional and affordable!
Coolers
We love the innovations coming out of RTIC. Their hardside coolers are significantly lighter than older models and the soft-side coolers are easy to carry.
Beach Cart
Now, how do you get all your gear to the perfect spot on the beach? If you have tried pulling a wagon on the beautiful soft sand of the Gulf, you know the struggle! We recommend looking for a cart with balloon wheels or do the internet hack and put the cart on snowsleds when you get to the sand!
Odds and Ends
Don’t forget drink and snack holders, reef-safe sunscreen, baby powder or cornstarch to get sand off your feet, and a ziplock bag to keep your phone dry!
