Off-peak crowds, with on-peak weather? Yes Please!
The month of May might be amazing where you live — but it is absolute paradise down here on the Gulf Coast. If you have time to vacation this month, it is one of the best times of year for a week at the beach.
May, how we love thee! Let us count the ways.
One: Milder Temperatures
If you have ever taken a vacation on the Gulf in the summer, you know it can get hot! May is the perfect month for outdoor enthusiasts who love to stay active, even on vacation. Bike rides on the Backcountry Trail, Kayaking excursions on the back bays, long walks on the beach, fishing out in the Gulf. With average highs in the low to mid-80’s, May is a great time to get active outside. But also hot enough that a cool dip in the Gulf water when you are done feels amazing!
Two: Smaller Crowds
Since school is still in session in most places, May tends to be a quieter month along the Gulf Coast. The peak season for the Gulf is June, July and August. In May, the beaches, restaurants, shops and parks are much quieter than when school lets out.
Three: Lower Price Points
Because it is a less popular time to visit, rental prices are lower too. If you want to ensure you will get warm weather, but pay a little less for your stay, May is your month! You will find that many of our units offer lower rates in May.
Four: Sunny Outdoor Concerts
Anywhere you vacation on the Gulf Coast, you are bound to find a great outdoor concert, including Bands on the Beach in Pensacola, the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, big names at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach, and live music at almost any restaurant on 30A.
Five: Warm Water
If you visit in the early spring, you may find that the Gulf water is a little too chilly to enjoy. But by the time May rolls around, the water has warmed up! But it is still a refreshing temperature to cool off on those warmer spring days.
